I crocheted this scarf for my mother, who lives in chilly Eastern Washington, out of four balls of Berroco Geode yarn in Rainbow Agate. The colors are amazing in the way they all blend together, but it was difficult to find the right spot to blend one ball into the next. I'm pleased with the way it turned out and my mum says she can wear it with almost anything. I used the shell stitch.

Dia De Los Muertos Bag - 20-21 October, 2009

This bag was inspired by the variegated yarn called Limbo Mexiko that I bought at The Loft the other day. When crocheted in single crochet, it looks like serape material. I used tapestry crochet to insert my skull pattern into the design, then added crocheted roses under the skull, and a row of turquoise teardrops and two tiny bone skull beads above. The patters is the same on both sides. I had just enough of the variegated yarn left to twist into the cord for the shoulder strap, and I added a scalloped fringe along the bottom of the bag to edge the design.

This is one of the hats in my Pirate Pixie Crew set. There is a long story behind the Pirate Pixie Crew. This hat belongs to the queen of the Pixies, who was turned to ice by a grumpy faery. To warm her back to life the Pixies got Captain Skulduggery Dug to make her Ice statue a long, warm hat. When the hat was placed on her head the ice that entombed her melted and she was freed. For Freeing her the Queen allows Captain Skulduggery Dug to keep a full Crew of Pixies for her pirate ship.... The stories are a part of owning one of that hats. The pirate Pixies all have a hat each and anyone that owns a hat gets access to a site where they can read the adventures of Captain Skully and her crew and they can also download pictures to colour in.
