Can anybody help me find a pattern for a skull cap that I can crochet using cotton yarn. I have so far found patterns that can be done with only wool. I would like to crochet a few skull caps that can be worn on sunny days.

I would think that the pattern for wool would work for cotton if you're using the same weight, i.e. sport, worsted. Yadig? Or are you talking about using cotton crochet thread? -

I don't think you're going to get the stretch you need with cotton thread.

I too have used cotton yarn with a basic pattern. Well truth be told I don't really use patterns any more but the basic idea stays the same. There is less strech with cotton but you can counter act this by using a slightly bigger hook for more give. And just keep holding it up to your head so you can judge the fit.

That link has a bunch of patterns, I've used a couple of them. I've used wool patterns with cotton yarn and acrylic yarn with no problems.
