  Maybe your count is off or the stitches are looser..
  LOL My crochet is mostly all free form..even when I'm doing a pattern. I have tension problems, sometimes I hold too tight without thinking, when I stop and loosen up it gets better

  what are you making exactly? that might have an impact on why it's puckering.

  Hi...I am making what they call a scrumble...it is a bunch of pieces and stitches put together, with different types of fibers and textures, but I wanted it to lay flat, but with each piece that I add it seems to be getting a little flatter...It is an amazing process...and it is sooo beautiful!
