I have been to many yarn shops and I have to say my all time favorite is the one in my very own town. Ancient Pathways in Fresno, California. They have a fantastic selection of yarn, and you get to sit around a great big table and work on your project while chatting it up with other fiber fanatics. The ambiance is the best you could ask for.

Re: Favorite Yarn Shop
09/06A friend is co-owner of Village Yarn and Tea Shop in Shoreline, WA. I like it. I haven't been to a lot of other shops, but I like the option of sitting and having tea while you're there. It's fun! And luscious yarn, too. Although they still tend to be very knit-centric with the classes and projects and all, which is kindof a bummer, but I've commented on it and hopefully they will be embracing crochet more!

Re: Favorite Yarn Shop
10/07I love the Yarn Cafe here in Minneapolis, they have a cafe attached to the yarn shop, lots of tables and couches, fire place, very cozy and fun. Amazing Threads, also in Maple Grove, is another favorite of mine because they have lots of variety and sort the yarn by weight rather than fiber type.

10/07My favorite yarn shop is up in Ashland, Oregon. It's just down the hill from the Shakespeare festival. The people are so friendly and the yarn styles are fantastic!

Re: Favorite Yarn Shop
10/08yarn by weight that sounds cool! I wonder if my shop would ply with that idea at all. -

Re: Favorite Yarn Shop
12/24I have a friend with an online store. She does not do cheap, but its good. She is in Wilsonville Oregon.
See www.chimerapygora.com and go to the fiber for sale tab.
She sells not only pygora, but others as well.
Happy hunting,
Will
