There is a tablecloth in my family that is 100 years old, but it has never been finished. Where would I look for old patterns?
Thanks,
Amy

WOW, how cool. Maybe someone at one of the retirement homes might just know. Some of the stiches are the same today. Good luck.

Do you have a picture of the table cloth? You could put up a picture and if any of the members of this group have a pattern that matches that stitch they could send it to you so you could attempt to complete it. If the table cloth is made in one piece you could also take a few stitches out to see what the pattern was and redo it from there.

Unsu...
My Grandmother left me several Crochet books from the thirty's and forties. Also some of the Crochet Books reprint popular patterns. If you post a picture someone might have a similar pattern.

If you can get a close up I can have my mother read the pattern from it. she is a whiz at duplicating lost patterns from a sample... Rick

try this site www.antiquepatternlibrary.org/, click on the Booklist link toward the end of the page.
Not all of the books are scanned in yet; but from what I read this woman is scanning in a lot of very old books, some from the 1800's. I did look at all the books she's already scanned in; but wasn't paying close enough attention to notice any tablecloth patterns. I am sure that there were some.

Hi, did you ever find the pattern for this table cloth?
I'm currently crocheting a queen Anne's Lace one for our table, which I just found out we need to replace. *sigh*.
