  I just got a Leisure Arts leaflet called "Dog Sweaters to knit and crochet" and it isn't bad. I think the styles could be better, but it's the best i've seen so far. There is a free dog sweater pattern at www.crochetnmore.com/dogsweater.htm.

      Thanks Ellen, I found that pattern too.
      It came out quite cute, but I am still looking for something with sleeves, know of any other patterns?

          Small dogs actually can actually need sweaters and raincoats in cold weather, because they can hurt themselves from shivering. In fact, depending on how cold it is, small dogs can even need foot covering.

            Yeah-- That makes sense! In fact, the opposite can be true as well. My family had a black lab and I remember that we were careful during the very hot days to not walk her on the hot, black asphalt.

          my sister's chihuahua (sorry for the earlier misspelling) gets very cold in the winter time, and even in the summer if the AC is on too much. They are most certainly bred for a hot climate and need sweaters in the winter. :-)
