I came across a webpage with PDF and Word files for knit, knitting machine, and crochet patterns for helmet liners for US troops. It's got an address for shipping the liners as well. Do note the material and color constraints - wool, in brown, tan, olive drab, grey or black.

I'm not for the war, but I'm for anything that makes the soldiers' lives a little easier (or at least, a little less sucky).

  • this is great -- thanks so much for posting this.

while i have never been gung ho for this war, i come from a military family and i know how hard it is for those men and women who are out there doing their jobs. i plan to make at least one of these as soon as i finish up my xmas projects.
  • I have a few more patterns to add, I got to get them typed up. They are for just a liner, not the face cover. They are actually patterns for men's kufis but work just as well for soldiers. Plus, they look like a local menswear hat when worn alone in the Mid-East.
